Hertford East Station Damage Update 12th Dec

Update from East Herts District Council Conservation Team 

Contact from Greater Anglia. Their last update about a month ago: “Tenders went out last week to undertake surveys/design, would hope to get the surveys started before Christmas with a view to start works early in the new year. Surveys will mainly cover the roof and the internal booking office”.

This has been brought to the Civic Society’s attention.  On investigation there are reports that the plaster works fell into the ticket hall last week and the area is now cordoned off, a surveyor has been out and lead is missing from the roof.   It seems action is being taken and any further developments noted.
